Study on wind damage grade model for eucalyptus plantation in Guangxi, China

نویسندگان

چکیده

Wind damage is one of the dominant natural disasters that have greatest impact on growth plantations. However, little attention has been paid to wind grade model. Based eucalyptus plantations from national forest inventory data and field investigations in Guangxi, ten significant factors are susceptible were selected perform multiple linear regression analysis Through assessing level based characteristic site conditions, we aimed reduce loss economic benefits caused by damage. The results showed age group trees, slope, soil thickness, management grade, total vegetation coverage had effects trees this area. Therefore, it necessary protect land strengthen improve resistance forests future.

Carbon Storage in a Eucalyptus Plantation Chronosequence in Southern China

Patterns of carbon (C) allocation across different stages of stand development in Eucalyptus urophylla × E. grandis plantations are not well understood. In this study, we examined biomass and mineral soil C content in five development stages (1, 2, 3, 4–5, and 6–8 years old) of a Eucalyptus stand in southern China. The tree biomass C pool increased with stand age and showed a high annual rate o...

What to Do with Structurally Low-Grade Wood from Australia’s Plantation Eucalyptus; Building Application?

About one million hectares of plantation hardwoods, mostly eucalyptus trees of different sub-species (E. nitens and E. globulus), are annually being managed in Australia, which provides a promising resource of raw materials for fibre industries. However, the timber boards required by the Australian hardwood sector are still being either imported from other countries or harvested from the native...

Hydraulic Balance of a Eucalyptus urophylla Plantation in Response to Periodic Drought in Low Subtropical China

A clear understanding of hydraulic regulation in cultivated plants is crucial for addressing challenges to forest water cycling due to climate changes in low subtropical China. Experiments were conducted to determine the hydrologic balance of a Eucalyptus urophylla plantation in response to periodic drought. Trees displayed lower stomatal conductance (GS) and leaf water potentials (ΨL) during t...

wind farm impact on generation adequacy in power systems

The geometry of light capture in plantation Eucalyptus globulus labill

The nature and spatial distribution of leaf area, especially leaf size, density and orientation, strongly regulates light harvesting as well as the exchange of carbon and water between plants and atmosphere (Pearcy and Yang 1996). The occupation of three-dimensional space and the characteristics of branches on which leaves are arranged, combine to generate wide variations in shoot, branch and t...
